Very young and ill hedgehogs require syringe feeding.

A very underweight youngster,
sadly this one was too poorly to make it.

This male was here a few days while a minor injury healed, then he went back to the wild.

This was taken 11th April 2009, the day before Edie's successful release to the wild Easter Sunday.

A tiny baby, sadly too ill to survive. Eyes not yet open, away from mum for too long, severly dehydrated and on arrival was covered in fly eggs.

Edie came 9th November 2008, just a baby. She has thrived and is now a healthy young lady who is finally ready to go to the wild on Easter Sunday after 22 weeks here.

This is Hercules, resident hedgehog due to being disabled after getting caught in a rat trap. Read about him in the HogBlog.

Hercules. You can just make out that where his front left shoulder is looks flatter than it should. This was taken before strength returned in the shoulder, it now looks more like the other side,

Cruella looks good after a long hibernation - awake just a week in this photo.

Getting lost when out foraging with Mum is sadly a common occurence. 20p is there for size comparison.

The protruding bone of the right back leg can just be seen to the left of the nose. This female lost many spines and the fur from her face and legs due to the stress of coping with the horrific injury she sustained - very little left of the leg.
